Is jersey city walkable

Pretty much

If you live in the 07302 area it's very walkable . You have a few grocery stores , access to the mall just a bit further out , access to restaurants ( leans towards Korean , Chinese and Indian food but there are American spots too ) , a pretty consistent farmers market, and a few yoga Pilates type deals. Schools are dependent on your needs but a few elementary , middle and high schools to choose from that are walkable. If they don't suit your needs there are bussable / bikeable schools in the surrounding zip codes. Speaking of zipcodes you have access to Hoboken and west side through the light rail.

Also Alot of parks to choose from.

Crime is low but it's still the city. Lock your bike up , keep your personal belongings in tight pockets on your person , and lock your front door when your home ( or try to have 2 doors to get into your place if you're in an apt building )

07306 id say you might want to get a bike or take the bus. Infrastructure is getting there but the lack of light rail makes things less connected to the rest of jersey city. SOME good stores , some good restaurants, but overall just have to be more discerning. Mall is farther away as well .

07307 ( this is more towards union city ) you need a bike. There are little spots but you'd want to go to Hoboken or NYC for the full night life experience if you're into that. Besides that it's VERY family / school oriented. You'll see kids at the park and walking around more often than in the other zipcodes

07087 ( union city )

Heavy Spanish speaking population but tons of variety/ competition for food , grocery stores and the like so you can find good spots . Very far from the Newport Mall but plenty of alternatives to get clothes and other things. Smaller town feel. Seems like Alot of people walk home from work so they hire locally. But overall you can walk with a cart and get Alot of stuff done.

07310

Extremely walkable if you're near Washington Street . If your extremely far away from Washington Street some stuff that you'd rather bike to but ALOT is high quality NYC level stuff. But overall it's still the mile city so it's never crazy.

07304 /305

E bikeable / moped able

food competition isn't all the way there yet so you might have to go to the other zipcodes to get better groceries/ food. School choice is a bit more limited ( if you disagree comment the local good stuff in those neighborhoods 🙂)

So yeah

I look forward to hearing about hidden gems I missed.

Until next time 😎
