Micro apts

Also a fan but it's definitely not for the unintentional. You have to want to live in one ,plan to live in one and most importantly you have to have stuff to do outside of your apt. ( This is where the common house comes in handy 🫡)

Micro in Jersey city is weird but for the sake of the post. Lets just say

300 sq ft studio

400 sq ft 1 bed

550 sq ft 2 bed

700 sq ft 3 bed

And

900 sq ft 4 bed

are all micro apts

There are drawings below to help some drawings below to help visualize it

But there are about 2 variants of these arrangements that can be decided together with your group.

One is big room ,small living room.

For the sake of simplicity, let's say 150 sq ft is a big room

The pros are that you should be able to fit Most if not all of the furniture that you want in a room that big .

The cons are that if you are living with other people the living room will be too small to accommodate more than 1 group of friends comfortably ( person living there and their friends comfortably ) and hosting is almost guaranteed to be limited to less than 10 people. You would have to open up your bedroom to your guests to make things comfortable which could be a change of pace . Also you can definitely and legally share a room with a partner with this setup

The other side is Small room , big living room

Let's go with minimum Jersey city bedroom

With this variation furniture has to be multi use and has to be on the smaller side in your room. Some people open for single sized beds to help get more room. You also can't legally share your bedroom with this arrangement That's a bit of stress and a con tbh. The pros are that your living room will be huge in comparison. You might be able to do bigger hostings and you'll be able to accommodate 2 to 3 groups of friends if you're smart about furniture design. Also working on laptops in the same living room will be much more feasible .

This can help with affordability but always check with your group to make sure their ideas about space are clear. Some people are willing to downsize if they get tons of amenities. Some people just want bigger buildings and private homes. Through your voting process you'll find the best idea

Until next time 😎
