Parking

Heavily implied but in urban CoHousing parking will be difficult. Trying to be more sustainable and cut down on car dependence means cars will be prioritized less than amenities / people.

You basically want to assume they'll be no parking for guests. You can still host VERY big gatherings in the common house for holidays or other occasions but you want to tell people in advance that there will be very limited parking. It is the trade off to being able to walk/ bike to get most of your errands ( Jersey city is more bikeable than walkable but that's another post ) . In Jersey city specifically there are Park and Ride lots near some light rail stops and quite a few parking garages.

Also there will be fewer yhan average parking spots for cohousing members as well ( hence the shared cars / bikes )

If you're an experienced street parking finder this is irrelevant. You'll always find somewhere to park wherever you're at .

That's about it

Until next time 😎
