Windows vs fans

I'm a big fan of windows in the bathroom and kitchen

( Pun intended )

As long as you're replacing the mesh at a decent pace they can provide natural air flow to places that need them the most. They're really easy to operate as well. The issue is, constructing a building around having windows in the bathroom AND kitchen can lead to stricter layouts that cost more to build around for the private homes . Not always the case but still the trend. If you want more freedoms with layouts you should use fans instead

You're probably not going to install a bathroom vent fan yourself but having the builders do it while they're getting your building together won't take much more effort. You'd want a fan that can move air quickly ,won't be extremely noisy all the time but noisy enough to let people know you're in there. For the bathroom smells , the worst comes from bad construction so you want to be on top of the sealing and make sure you don't cheap out on good plumbing work

For the kitchen you don't necessarily need the greatest range hood but a good one can make smells go away quicker.

You can also choose to cook with the front door open for a neighborly atmosphere and potential social starting point. The kitchen smells are mostly ventilation related and you can find ways to make sure the bedrooms don't let TOO much noise and smell in while your cooking.

Now for the common house this can get a bit tricky I think you should plan to have windows in I your common house obviously but selendong on how much cooking you do you might have to consider creating a commercial kitchen. That'll be tomorrows topic tho

Stuff like that

Until next time 😎
